Today, the terror threat from far-right white supremacists is the terror threat that dare not speak its name. Leading conservatives, and even some liberals, are keen to downplay the danger that they pose and to divert and deflect attention away from homegrown white extremists and toward what President Trump likes to call “radical Islamic terrorism.”

The people who run America have constructed a political system that’s like a glitchy killer robot, one even they can’t control anymore.
One of the most important things I did there was listen. I learned an incredible amount in a short period of time, mostly through storytelling. I listened to stories from Native youth about their everyday lives -- growing up on reservations and small towns and big cities across the country. I learned about ancestral histories and the many conflicts that Indigenous Nations set aside to come together to protect the water, and that this is the largest gathering of Indigenous Nations since 1973.
Commenting on Trump's speech, columnist Eugene Robinson argued that his talk added up to what few journalists were willing to acknowledge -- "a notorious white supremacist account." What is shocking is the refusal in many mainstream media circles to examine the role that white supremacy has played in creating the conditions for Trump to emerge as the head of the Republican Party.
Right now in the Central Valley of California, where I live, millions of individuals are subjected to toxic water and air. They are either exhausted from fighting the white supremacist structure in the environmental justice space or by explaining to individuals with white privilege that the drought is not necessarily the biggest water crisis for millions of people of color and low-income communities in California.
