Report on the anti-NATO protests in Madrid and US Summit of the Americas fails

The US/NATO is proposing a new alignment that will see it spread its aggression to Asia and around the world. According to information that can be found on the NATO web site, they will project Russia and China as their main enemies. This means that we will see further aggression against major military and nuclear powers that will put the entire world at risk.

Defusing the Ever-Present Threat of Nuclear War, with a range of presenters calling for nuclear disarmament

THE ABSOLUTE IMPERATIVE OF PARTNERSHIP NOW. We have the need the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions as a global mobilization. But to do that we need some dialogue serious dialogue, we need partnership. We can't have this rhetoric, what I call a Manichaean rhetoric, that we're good and they're bad. We have to accept the world: It's not pretty and we all have flaws, and we can argue about who is worse or who is better but that's not the point. The point is we have to partner with China, with Russia, with India, with Brazil, with a lot of countries we have massive disagreements with, but whatever those disagreements are the climate continues to warm as it is. We're putting more greenhouse gas into the atmosphere every day, and it's going to last in many cases for hundreds of years. This is another disaster and we've got to mobilize. We can have more than a million people in Central Park again: We need people all over the world, and we need to wake people up to the problem substantively but with the absolute imperative of partnership now. Hedges: The Israeli Execution of Al Jazeera Reporter Shireen Abu Akleh

"The killing of Abu Akleh would have been treated very differently if she was killed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine. ...The 55-year-long fight for Palestinian freedom is no less just, no less worthy of our support. But Palestinians are occupied by our Israeli ally. They are not white. Most are not Christian, although Abu Akleh was Christian. They are not deemed worthy. They suffer and die alone."

Chris Hedges: The Age of Self-Delusion

The war in Ukraine is intimately linked to the real existential crisis we face – the climate crisis. The latest UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report warns that greenhouse gas emissions must peak by 2025, and be nearly halved this decade, to thwart global catastrophe….Triggered by war in Ukraine, soaring energy prices have pushed the US and other countries to call on domestic oil producers to increase fossil fuel extraction and exacerbate the climate crisis. Oil and gas lobbyists are demanding the Biden administration lift prohibitions on offshore drilling and on federal lands.

Hedges: The Pimps of War

The coterie of neocons and liberal interventionists who orchestrated two decades of military fiascos in the Middle East and who have never been held to account are now stoking a suicidal war with Russia. “Whores of War.”   [Original illustration by Mr. Fish] By Chris Hedges | Original to ScheerPost April 11, 2022  byMODERATOR  I spent  20 years as More

Tell Congress to CUT THE PENTAGON! No $813 billion for war. ACT NOW!

Yesterday, Ukrainian and Russian officials held another round of high-level negotiations in Turkey. Ukraine says it will accept neutral status and be a non-nuclear country and Russia says it will reduce some military activity "to increase mutual trust." While these developments give some reason for optimism, Biden’s proposed FY2023 does the opposite.
