Urgent: FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has scheduled a Dec. 14 vote to roll back the Title II Net Neutrality rules. That means it’s time to amp up our efforts to save the open internet.

Don't end Net Neutrality

We’ve seen a tremendous amount of activism to protect Net Neutrality, and people like you have made the phones at the FCC and in Congress ring off the hook. This response has been amazing and it’s working: Lawmakers are tweeting and writing letters to express their support for the FCC’s Net Neutrality rules.

Now that we have everyone’s attention, it’s time to take to the streets. [See below for protests in the Twin Cities area.)

If the FCC succeeds in killing Net Neutrality, companies like Verizon will be able to censor online content and pick and choose what you can see online.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai used to be a Verizon lawyer and is still working for the company — which is why we’re planning a national day of action at Verizon stores on Dec. 7. More than 600 protests are in the works. If you haven’t already signed up, click here to find one near you.

A wave of in-person actions leading up to the FCC’s Net Neutrality vote is in progress (just yesterday activists in L.A. demonstrated outside a local government building.) And we need you to join us to make it clear that destroying our internet freedom is unacceptable. RSVP for a rally at a Verizon store near you on Dec. 7.

Without Net Neutrality, internet service providers like Verizon would be able to pick and choose what you could see online. They could censor content and stop you from accessing the websites of their competitors or small businesses or activists. They could create an internet of fast and slow lanes, where only a few wealthy companies could afford speedy access.

An internet without Net Neutrality would be inaccessible to many and open to none. We can’t let this happen.

Before joining the FCC, Chairman Pai was a top lawyer at Verizon. And he’s acting like he’s still on the company’s payroll. That’s why we’re asking people around the country to rally outside Verizon stores on Dec. 7. Will you join us?

We want the FCC to cancel its vote to end Net Neutrality, and Congress can pressure the agency to do just that. Congress has stepped in in the past when the FCC was off the rails and stopped votes like this one from happening.

But we need to take to the streets to make this happen. Protesting outside retail stores during the busy holiday-shopping season is a great way to generate local media attention — which will put strategic pressure on lawmakers in their own backyards.

Enough is enough: It’s time to go all in for the open internet. More than 600 protests across the country have already been scheduled! This is an easy and fun way to show up for Net Neutrality, connect with other open-internet supporters, and send a message to Congress and the FCC. Click here to find a rally near you, or sign up to host one!

As an artist and writer who uses the internet to earn an income, net neutrality is very important to me. We have to rise up loudly and make sure this new adminisitration doesn’t give our power of community to corporations! Citizens United already states that profits are more important than people. !Ya basta! Call your representatives, write letters, sign petitions and if you can join an action to stop the FCC from selling out. We, the taxpayers should have more rights than corporations!
