Even though we’re truly reaching for the eve of destruction, our Congress instead spends its time stewing over Ticketmaster concert sales[8] while New York City public service ads advise us to deal with nuclear Armageddon by going inside and shutting our windows.
In 2011 Obama approved the $1 trillion nuclear modernization. This [modernization plan] is now approaching a cost of $2 trillion (over a 30-year period). Some of the costly items include 12 new Trident subs at $10 billion each, 100 new B-21 bombers at $560 million each, and 400 new Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) at $100 billion that replace the 50-year-old Minuteman missiles.
Those in power must feel our wrath, which means constant acts of non-violence civil disobedience, social and political disruption. Organized power from below is the only power that can save us.

War Policy is a Domestic Policy: Much of the pro-NATO left has taken this stand to protect its domestic electoral project. If sending weapons is wrong, their political heroes who repeatedly voted without debate for more weapons are also terribly wrong.
If we take our humanity seriously, our response to the warmakers must be rebellion. Peaceful and poetic, forceful and unrelenting. We need to raise the human condition as they seek to degrade it. The Merchants of Death cannot defeat a movement that speaks the language of poetry.

MLK Day should be a day for courage, for independence, for nonpartisanship, and for nonviolent action for the complete ending and abolishing of participation in any war.
This lust for war is dangerous, pushing us into a potential war with Russia and, perhaps later, with China — each a nuclear power. It is also economically ruinous.
