Mnar Muhawesh, Founder and Editor In Chief, MintPress News, talked about how the tightly controlled corporate media ignores reporting and good journalism to follow directives on creating enemies and promoting wars. Almost all of the media outlets in this country are owned by a few corporations. (See image below.)
Muhawesh is one of few Muslim journalists in the U.S. and of fewer still women Muslim journalists. In 2009, Muhawesh also became the first American woman to wear the hijab to anchor/report the news in American media.
