Editor’s Note: Google’s home page logo today honors Harriet Tubman, the African-American woman who is best known for her work with the Underground Railroad in the mid-1800s before the Civil War, bringing slaves from the south to freedom in the northern United States and Canada. She also worked with Susan B. Anthony in the suffragette movement during part of her long life, her home in Auburn, New York being close to Seneca, New York.
