Syria: NY Times’ Deadly Aim to Fool ALL the People ALL the Time

By Jay Janson   November 2, 2012
A veil of disinformation by Western business controlled media, never possible by any outright State-controlled media, has descended on the world. But with technology is racing toward easy electronic access to  documented history, those employed in the war-is-profitable business will soon be indicted. There is a rising call for America to prosecute its own war criminals. See: Prosecute US Crimes Against Humanity Now.
US-Imperialist-wars-promoting New York Times’ latest “all-the-truth-that-is-fit-to-print” about Syria is titled:
As Syria Escalates Bombing, U.S. Urges New Anti-Assad Bloc
By Hania Mourtada, Hwaida Saad and Michael Gordon, 10/31/2012″
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/01/world/middleeast/syrian-air-raids-increase-as-battle-for-strategic-areas-intensifies-rebels-say.html?ref=world
“BEIRUT, Lebanon — The Syrian Air Force escalated its bombing campaign against the rebellion on Wednesday, activists reported, as the United States signaled growing impatience with the failure of the Syrian opposition-in-exile to form a cohesive leadership and said it would support a more robust and organized movement to oust President Bashar al-Assad.”
“Activists reported, activists said.” [?] The NY  Times, along with the rest of the US investor-owned media cartel, consistently cites unnamed pro-US sources, pro-US individuals and organizations in reporting Syrian government troops firing on unarmed peaceful demonstrators, and only occasionally reports, with disdain and as insignificant, news releases of the now well demonized Syrian government.
“… news that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton had proposed a newly revamped coalition of anti-Assad groups to supplant the Syrian National Council, the largely ineffective political opposition based outside the country that includes aging figures who have not been inside Syria for decades. She said the new coalition should include anti-Assad fighters but exclude the Islamist extremist elements that have joined the battle to topple Mr. Assad.”

“Exclude Islamic extremist elements”
 – [?] Implies that she, Sec. of Defense Panetta, the CIA, along with British M16, the French Secret Service (France or Vichy France occupied Syria for three decades), Israeli, Turkish and Saudi government agencies, with NATO and allied Qatar providing financing and and coaching for the rebellion long filled with non-Syrian fighters, have not been involved in hiring Islamic extremists (read al Qaeda groups)?
Please! For months, investigative reporters all over the Internet have been covering the same use of al Qaeda elements that the Obama war administration ‘secretly’ used last year to attack the government of wealthy Libya, that the Bush II war administration used in Iraq against pro-Iranian Shiites in Iraq, and Presidential Adviser Brzezinski had brought into into Afghanistan, to help US funded Afghan fundamentalists attack the popular women-liberating Kabul government and the Soviets who came to Kabul’s aid.
“Mrs. Clinton, who has played a prominent role in promoting the Syrian opposition with nonmilitary aid, “– [?] After sixty-three years of what Martin Luther King Jr. called ‘atrocity wars, bombings, invasions, occupations, covert overthrows of elected governments and funding of civil disturbances and civil wars in third world nations all meant to maintain unjust predatory investments,’ who in their right mind is going to believe that the aid Secretary of State Clinton has been promoting those attacking the Syrian government with heavy weapons, is “nonmilitary” aid?
The Times continues, that Mrs. Clinton, “did not object to the participation of the Syrian National Council in a newly organized anti-Assad coalition, which she hoped to advance at a meeting next week in Doha, Qatar. But Mrs. Clinton said “this cannot be an opposition represented by people who have many good attributes, but in many instances have not been inside Syria for 20, 30 or 40 years.”
The Times article informs us that Mrs. Clinton shall decide what who can or cannot represent the Syrian people at next week’s meeting in Doha, Qatar.  – [?] Again, “activists warned” such and such. – [?] The Times, from selective horses’ mouth gives a continuing picture of the Syrian government killing its own people, even though the Times has been forced to concede various times that most Syrians support their government and that the large Christian population is deadly afraid of the intentions of the groups attacking government forces.
‘… said Ahmad Kadour, a spokesman for the rebels in the area, speaking via Skype,’  “It’s very cold, there is no heating and the most essential nutritional supplies have completely stopped.” – [?] What this quote implies is that it is the government’s fault for not surrendering.
The nation’s newspaper of record, used in schools throughout America, quotes another “spokesman” as describing the shelling is “random” – [?] Which side is “shelling at “random” need not be explained. The Times has been building its case against the government of Syria, a Syria, which for Times publishers is much too independent of Western imperialism and economic control, as was Libya and is Iran, over the last twenty months of undocumented reporting, often in openly scurrilous wording.
Further on, the reader learns  from “the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a rebel organization that tracks the conflict from Britain,” of the cruel activities of the Syrian air force as it defends Syria from the international investment community and NY Times backed insurrection. [?] A “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that tracks the conflict from Britain” – [?] The British press and politicians (except for the few  dissenting and outspoken MPs  like honest George Galaway) demand that Syria’s president must be taken out.  (In the USA, Britain’s boss and the world’s only superpower, there in absolute consensus that Assad must go – Obama and Romney criminally arguing about who can get rid of Assad quicker.)
In the next paragraph, the NY Times writers of this article reporting from Beirut, Lebanon and Zagreb Croatia (in far away Europe) quote one “Abdoul Haytham, an activist” who tell of observing horribly bloody war scenes.
– reported to give the impression that the war be the fault of the defenders?
A sentence quotes the loyalist side, “Army units were staging raids on rebel hide-outs in and around Aleppo, reported SANA, the official Syrian news agency, inflicting heavy losses in men and matériel.”
We can imagine the intention is for the reader to compare a sparse government report to a ‘more accurate’ description we read posted by
Times correspondents sitting in Lebanon and in the former Yugoslavia.
Next, check out how the Times writers admit that the contents of their article “could not be independently verified,” but insert this admission in between the continuation of what “could not be independently verified.” :
“Several videos posted by activists showed black clouds of smoke billowing from the town of Saqba, after warplanes purportedly bombed residential neighborhoods and factories there. The videos could not be independently verified. “”Look at this! Arabs and the rest of the world, look at this shelling, which has been taking place for 10 days straight,”” a man could be heard yelling out of camera range.”
We read of ‘good news’ from “The Free Syrian Army” fighting for, what we have been indoctrinated to understand, are the values of the ‘Free World’ (no longer called more forthrightly the ‘Colonial Powers).’ “The Free Syrian Army, however, insisted that the government’s ground forces had managed to advance only a few yards in the area.”
And onward from yet another “activist,” one “Abu Ghazi,” giving the further ‘good news’ that “Regime forces are desperately trying to regain control of eastern Ghouta.  Government soldiers have failed to retake the towns of Irbeen and Harasta despite subjecting them to continuous airstrikes.”
We read on that according to the Times article’s authors, writing from outside Syria, that “several Damascus residents complained that the number of jets and helicopters hovering overhead in the past few days had been unusually high.” and from still another, for the Times reliable, source, “Local Coordination Committees,  an opposition group that tracks the violence,” we read that “two air raids targeted the downtown area of a town in which 15 residents died and many were wounded.”
Mind you, the Times, in its devious way of presenting within, what the unwary reader expects is law-abiding, on the level, trustworthy press coverage, is able to level a war crime accusation against the Syrian air force. According to this Times article, the Syrian government is targeting an area of town and not an attacking army. Oh sure, it is a subtle difference, but add up six decades of Cold War and War-Against-Terror similar subtleties, and the result is the proud dispatching of many millions of human beings from Korea to Syria in their very own beloved countries under false pretenses, media managed.
The New York Times and its owned Washington Post continues to lead conglomerate US media in deceptions never possible by any outright State-controlled media.[1][2][3] Mercifully, for this peoples historian, constantly observing NY Times crimes against peace over an eighty-two year lifetime, towards the end this average Times news article, we are informed of a rebel atrocity:
“a bomb exploded near the Sayyida Zeinab shrine, a sacred pilgrimage shrine for Shiite Muslims that is in an eastern suburb of Damascus. Accounts of the attack by the Syrian Observatory and Ad Dounia, a private satellite channel close to the government, differed. An explosive device planted in a motorcycle detonated near a hotel by the shrine, killing eight people and wounding many more, the observatory said. But the television report said there were two bombs, one planted in a garbage can and a second that was dismantled before it exploded. SANA said six people were killed and 13 injured in the Sayyida Zeinab attack after an “armed terrorist group planted a bomb in a garbage bag.
But this one concession to reality does not cancel out the malicious effect of months of continuous partisan propaganda justifying US arming, funding and most assuredly, by past president, supervising as well, anti-Syrian forces for during a year long attempt to overthrow a friendly government.[4] [5] A veil of disinformation has descended so very completely on President Assad and the government of Syria. So much so that although in the case of Syria, Western business controlled media did allow us see massive pro-Assad government demonstrations, the much smaller anti-government gatherings easily sufficed merely through the Times and networks concentrating coverage on the anti-Assad clamoring.
In the case of Libya, the massive rally of many hundred thousands waving Green flags of support for Gadaffi, even while France and Britain with US help were bombing the hell out of their country was not shown on US commercial television or in the Times.[6a 6b 6c 6d ]  The pro-Green multitude was so spectacular in size, Saif Gadaffi, the governments well spoken government leader appeared jubilant and elated, obviously thinking that NATO would have to back down in response. I remember seeing him on line looking victorious. Within two months the French, perennial protectors of Arabs and Africans, would have their warplanes corner his father, and see that he joined his grandchildren, murdered by British missiles, [7]and his daughter, murdered during the US air strike ordered by President Reagan in 1988.
This archival research peoples historian was unable to find one single video or photo of more than local crowds of demonstrators screaming against Gadaffi (and then only against Gadaffi and not against any public distress) and not one video or photo of government troops, or tanks or planes firing on unarmed people, such as we had been seeing for months before on the streets in Egypt and Yemen.
(Within 36 hours of the from London called for ‘day of rage’ demonstration in Benghazi (for seven thousand years governed separately from Tripolitana), heavily armed men overran the Behghazi airport and surrounding towns and massacred fifty Libyan black soldiers.)[8][9] If the New York Times or Christine Amanpour [10] had found any such videos or photos they surely would have sound-bite rebroadcasted them as much as possible to cover their continuous unsubstantiated statements referring to such spontaneous peaceful uprisings and such “Gadaffi regime” attacks on them, false statements that would be conveniently but absurdly and devilishly quoted by President Obama in justifying his ordering the bombing of this small but wealthy and imperialism-undermining nation.[11][12][8][9] The owners and news reporting personalities of conglomerate controlled US TV networks and print media will in this age of racing personal communication and information access, someday soon find themselves indicted under Nuremberg Principle Six Law of Crimes Against Peace. We should remind them that five German media personalities were indicted and tried in Nuremberg Germany, in 1945.
And the indictments will include crimes against peace committed against Korea, Vietnam, many other small nations, US invaded, bombed, occupied or otherwise attacked, and include as well the same crime against the citizens of the United States and international audience as well.
This I am sure of.
There is already a growing number of well respected independent historians, writers and journalists calling for America to prosecute its own war criminals. See Prosecute US Crimes Against Humanity Now Campaign click here
All those now, and previously, employed in the war-is-profitable business will be eventually brought to justice, if necessary, posthumously for the record and to the shame of their families and close associates. For as Abraham Lincoln once sagaciously pointed out, “You can fool some people all the time, and all the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.”
The Times and other corrupt amoral media, to the point of promoting mass homicide, have been successful in fooling enough of the people enough of the time, but this will not last for much longer in the current space age of easy electronic access to knowledge of documented history.

NY Times Works Hard to Prove US Bombs Only Kill Bad Libyans
Though the NY Times, famous for backing every US war in history, has apparently long given up pretending that U.S. air strikes in the rest of the Muslim world do not intentionally include permissible collateral death of women and children (by simply not publishing most of AP wire service reports of U.S./NATO massacres), Libya as a new war, needs to be sanitized and justified as another ‘clean’ and ‘U.S. good guys conflic

Capitalist-good-guy slanted articles filled with half-truths that distort, and blatant omissions of infamous US war crimes against vulnerable nations are frequent, but ridiculing tiny Laos, mercilessly carpet bombed for 9 yrs, reads as entertainment for the wealthy and arrogant Wall Street upper class. After 34 yrs Obama lifts sanctions on the-most-bombed-ever nation in the world. One shudders in patriotic embarrassment.

NY Times, AP Consistently Leaving Out Debunking Info on “N. Korean Torpedo’ Claim
Even capitalist South Korea’s major newspapers have carried the friendly-US-fire suppositions re its blown up warship by both a Russian Navy investigation and Japanese investigative reporters. It is difficult to even find having been reported in U.S. media the simple and diplomatic Chinese answer to the U.S. asking help to punish North Korea on the basis of a U.S. ‘international investigation’ finding. “Not creditable.”

What is unfolding in Syria is an armed insurrection supported covertly by foreign powers including the US, Turkey and Israel. Armed insurgents belonging to Islamist organizations have crossed the border from Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. The US State Department has confirmed that it is supporting the insurgency. Bizarre Adulation? Gaddafi’s Son Grandchildren Murdered by Queen’s Royal Air Force after Royal Wedding?
NATO has murdered the son and grandchildren of the leader of Socialist Libya, a former colony of imperialist nations now bombing a Libya that had risen to giving its citizens a higher standard than nine European nations including Russia – far and away #1 in Africa with free health care and free higher education. Real reasons for targeting Gaddafi and an orchestrated civil war are noted.

Capitalism’s Warplanes: CIA & al Qaeda Destroy Socialist Libya’s 53rd Highest Living Standard
An imperative more basic than keeping US backed dictators in power and eliminating non-capitalist regimes is at work in Libya and the Middle East. An imperative that has created all wars. It is imperative for private investment financial capital to accumulate, and to accumulate at an ever increasing rate, pushing the wealthy owners of capital into ever new variations of same ancient conspiracy of the rich against the poor. http://www.opednews.com/articles/Capitalism-s-Warplanes-CI-by-Jay-Janson-110422-958.html[9]  There Was No Libyan Peaceful Protest,
Just Murderous Gangs and Nic Robertson
By Jay Janson
16 June, 2011
Countercurrents.org
Nic Robertson and Anderson Cooper are surely aware of their achievement in promoting the human carnage of civil war and the destruction of a beautifully well-kept and prosperous nation, the 53rd highest developed country in the world with free health care and education. A standard of living that was higher than nine European nations, including Russia, is no more, thanks to their having daily led our entertainment with their war mongering of purposely distorted reporting, misreporting, disinformation, and blacking out of information that would have made this massive loss of human life impossible. They’ll not be able to wash this off their conscience.
1. There were no peaceful protests!
2. CNN, covering the Danish Cartoons anniversary demonstration that was cooped with an announcement from London to make it into a “day of rage against Libyan leader Gaddafi,’ showed us camera panning of a modest size crowd (mostly men) jumping up and down shouting against Gaddafi (not against Libya’s high standard of living).
3. There were armed attacks on police stations (even traffic police) and vicious attacks on Chinese and Korea construction workers already two days before, and during the anniversary of the Danish Cartoons or “day of rage,’ executions of 50 captured Libyan soldiers, one beheaded, some hung along with police officers. And who knows how many ordinary Libyan civilians harmed by tough guys brought in to Benghazi and other Cyrenaican towns. This was reported by Reuters and BBC, but not CNN.
4. CNN showed a video of a small amount of people scattering, running at twilight, cell phone camera jerking around in confusion with the sound of shooting from completely unidentified sources. There was Anderson Cooper and Nic Robertson crying out that “Gaddafi’, was “targeting, shooting, bombing his own people who only want democracy. At the same time a flood of anti Gaddafi reports were coming in from well funded Libyan exile backers in various countries.
5. Imagine! On Feb. 21 a bare four days after the overseas calls for “day of rage’ U.S. media’s UK counterpart, the Telegraph reported that ” the International Federation for Human Rights said Libya’s second city along with Sirte, Tobruk, Misrata, Khoms, Tarhounah, Zenten, Al-Zawiya and Zouara had all been taken by protesters. “Protesters?” We were given to see these tough hombre heavily armed “freedom fighters’ in their fleets of pickup trucks looking nothing at all like protesters.
6. While, very quickly, heavily armed insurgent gangs, always described as “ordinary citizens who had dropped their office jobs a few days before to fight for freedom,’ were efficiently overrunning towns and airports, Cooper and Robertson kept excitedly exclaiming cities were being bombed from the air – civilians targeted – showing viewers the same single bomb crater in a field outside of a town for five days running as proof, though oddly admitting no one had been injured.
7. CNN and NY Times have never reported that Libya, as opposed to desperately poor Egypt and Yemen enjoys a higher standard of living than nine European nations including Russia. Rather, they continue emphasizing Western media condemnation of Gaddafi over his entire four decades of leadership of Libya and the movement for African Union.
8. In less than 2 weeks came Obama’s executive orders freezing Libyan accounts or confiscating Libyan accounts of billions of dollars for eventual use by insurgents. Even earlier began the threats from international institutions beholden to U.S. and NATO, and open speculation by the same coalition of former colonial powers that had once conquered and ruled the entire non-white world for centuries, of military action against “Gaddafi’ (that would add a sixth Muslim nation to its bombing list of Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan. …  …   … click on title above

After videos of small anti-Gadaffi groups and videos of much larger pro-Gadaffi groups, Christina Amanpour insults Gadaffi face to face with her own CNN and Western politician’s lies on ABC news and gets away with it by out grossing anything else imaginable. Listen for yourself.[11] After Gaddafi abolished nuclear energy technology 10 years before after the West’s economic threats, he was then working to send the first African communications satellite into space almost solely funding the program, establish a AMF (African Monetary Fund), African Bank for investing (equivalent to World Bank), an African Central Bank which would have given Africa control over it’s own currency backed by gold…that’s until the NATO (90% US) barged in with air strikes and the US suddenly started financing Al Qaeda (rebels) while no revolution ever took place and no footage of a revolution was ever shown (Tunisia & Egypt are revolution with citizens protesting… Libya was and is US funded warfare).[12] Libyan Armed Protestors Occupy Parliament Vicinity by Esam Mohamed, Associated Press, TRIPOLI, Libya November 1, 2012, Associate PressBy ESAM MOHAMED Associated Press, TRIPOLI, Libya November 1, 2012, Associate PressAround 200 mostly armed protesters have occupied an area near Libya’s parliament building, blocking nearby roads and beating up journalists in protest of the country’s new Cabinet. Thursday’s action, in which an AP reporter was also beaten, is the third in a row staged by the group, which opposes the new government chosen Prime Minister Ali Zidan and endorsed by Congress. Young men representing ex-revolutionary…  The country is awash with weapons and armed groups[13] Besieged Gaddafi Stronghold Bani Walid Under Attack
By Stephen Lendman

Washington’s war on Libya rages. Fighting didn’t stop after NATO said its seven-month 2011 “mission” ended. Ravaging a nonbelligerent country wasn’t good enough.           http://rense.com/general95/bani-walid.html enough.
Occupation harshness inflicts more pain. Jamahiriya Green Resistance is strong. Its struggle continues. It won’t stop until Libya regains freedom. Loyalists want no part of NATO control, puppet leaders, imperial plundering, and ordinary Libyans used and abused.
Frequent freedom fights erupt. Tribes are involved. Local militias have their own agenda. Insurgents battle each other and Green Resistance for control. Government forces serve Washington and key NATO partners.
Since early October, Bani Walid’s been besieged. Thousands of militiamen are involved. Food, medical supplies, fuel and other essentials are in short supply. Armed men block vehicles with medical and other essential supplies from entering.
Residential neighborhoods are attacked. Nearby villages were looted and burned. Libya’s so-called General National Congress (GNC) approved the assault.[see [8][9] above
