Dick Cheney’s Halliburton “sold nuclear technology to Iran”

Senate hearing on foreign subsidiaries of U.S. companies dealing with Iran

Halliburton, the notorious U.S. energy company, sold key nuclear-reactor components to a private Iranian oil company called Oriental Oil Kish as recently as 2005, using offshore subsidiaries to circumvent U.S. sanctions. This clip shows Democratic Senators Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) grilling Sherry Williams, V.P. and Corporate Secretary for Halliburton about the company’s deplorable ethics and questionable practices.

In an interview with Democracy Now on March 2, 2007, U.S. Retired 4 star General Wesley Clark explains that the war profiteers planned a “Policy coup” to “pre-emptively” attack 7 countries in 5 years including: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and IRAN Video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY2DKzastu8

Who sold Iran oil companies the Nuclear technology…Dick Cheney’s Halliburton. Halliburton was awarded the no bid contact in Iraq. (Problem, reaction, solution) According to journalist Jason Leopold, sources at former Cheney company Halliburton allege that, as recently as January of 2005, Halliburton sold key components for a nuclear reactor to an Iranian oil development company. Leopold says his Halliburton sources have intimate knowledge of the business dealings of both Halliburton and Oriental Oil Kish, one of Iran’s largest private oil companies source: http://www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/articles/2-halliburton-charged-with-selling-nuclear-technologies-to-iran/

Washington Post:

“The award for oddest geopolitical couple of 2005 goes to the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Houston-based Halliburton. You might not think that a charter member of President Bush’s “axis of evil” could enlist the oil-services firm once run by Vice President Cheney to bolster its bargaining position with an international community intent on curbing its nuclear ambitions. But that is apparently what happened last month.

Within days three hard-line members of the Iranian parliament attacked the deal. In an open letter they alleged the contract had been arranged by a businessman named Sirous Naseri, who also serves on the Iranian government team negotiating with European powers seeking limits on Iran’s nuclear programs. The Halliburton contract, the parliamentarians complained, was “a threat to Iran’s nuclear stance.”

The Financial Times of London (subscription required) confirmed that Naseri, “a senior Iranian diplomat negotiating with Europe over Iran’s controversial nuclear programme … [was]… at the heart of deals with US energy companies to develop the country’s oil industry.”

The BBC reported that Halliburton, which took in $30-$40 million from Iranian operations in 2003, “was winding down its work due to a poor business environment.”

“What has happened is against U.S. laws . . . and the people involved in this transaction must be put in jail, according to American law,” Ledeen replied.

“Our real enemies are not those living in a distant land whose names or policies we don’t understand; The real enemy is a system that wages war when it’s profitable, the CEOs who lay us off our jobs when it’s profitable, the Insurance Companies who deny us Health care when it’s profitable, the Banks who take away our homes when it’s profitable. Our enemies are not several hundred thousands away. They are right here in front of us.” – Mike Prysner, Iraq War Veteran http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Prysner
