It cannot be known with any degree of certainty what percentage of FBI “stings” consist of targeted individuals who were induced or “entrapped” to agree to commit crimes and who would not have otherwise committed such crimes, but in my opinion it’s a large majority.
Amidst the screaming of women and children, the silence of the dead, and the blaring sirens trying to respond to the fires and carry away the injured, viewers can hear the shouts of men, some in anger and some in frenzied attempts to rescue those buried under rubble or critically injured by the bombs.
Yet “concern” over what the U.S. has done in our distant war zones -- from the killing of civilians at weddings, funerals, and memorial services to the evisceration of a hospital, to kidnappings, torture, and even the killing of prisoners, to drone strikes so “surgical” and “precise” that hundreds below died even though only a relatively few individuals were officially targeted -- seems largely missing in action. --Tom Engelhardt's Introduction
