Help Send Sue Ann to the First International
Conference Against US/NATO Military Bases in Dublin this November.
No to NATO protesters march in Newport, South Wales
This conference could prove a turning point in the struggle against militarism and the ever-expanding role of NATO. The world is in crisis. The organizers of this conference explain it this way:
The increasingly aggressive actions of US/NATO forces, the raging wars in the Middle East, the arms race devastating national treasuries, with bellicose language replacing diplomatic negotiations, economic crises facing country after country, and the destruction of the environment through war and exploitation, have created crises on a global scale. Peace people worldwide need to come together to stop this madness by mobilizing millions around peace.
Representatives from peace efforts around the world will be participating in this exciting first global effort to create peace in our beleaguered world, from South America, Central America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and the United States.
The original membership of NATO in 1949 was 12 countries; membership is now 29 countries. That, of course, does not include all of the many US military bases around the world. Representatives are coming from Africa, from Asia, from Cuba and Okinawa and many other places.
I am asking for financial help to attend for airfare, hotel, registration, and related expenses. My goal is to raise $1000 dollars.

For me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engage with people across the globe to address the militarism that pervades globally and to seek new solutions for global peace. Your donation is appreciated! And whatever help you are able to give allows you an opportunity to participate in pursuing world peace as well by helping support the conference.
