Mint Press speaks with legal expert and law professor Ryan Alford, who warns that hidden within the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Trump administration’s “Muslim travel ban” is a massive power giveaway to the executive branch that allows any president to order the mass detention of American citizens without worrying about a challenge from the courts.

This is what I have been thinking, that POTUS want to use this the Federal judge order to release the detained children and those seeking asylum to take it to Supreme Court for ruling on indefinite detention of US citizens, without charge or trial and/or the killing of this person with no acknowledgement by authorities of having done so. This is the “law” on the books signed by both Republicans and Democrats in the US House and Senate as part of AUMF under Obama (2011- I think). This illegal and unjust law allows our military, the CIA and FBI to carry out these deeds.!! and now this power to not only torture but secretly permanently detain and even kill anyone here in US or any citizen abroad. Is this what Democracy looks like?!!! Now this power is in the hands of Trump. All of this has been served up to us by Bi-parisanship. Let’s just call it Crimes Against Humanity and Justice.
