Three Decades of Daring Deeds

Reagan Inauguration Funeral Procession, January 1986

Did you know that Women Against Military Madness began 30 years ago? Inspired by polls that showed most women were opposed to war, 100 of us gathered together in 1982 to found WAMM. We took immediate action with a protest march in the streets of Minneapolis.

Since then WAMM has held hundreds of educational forums for the public with knowledgeable speakers. WAMM has organized countless actions: marches, pickets, vigils, parades, demonstrations, street theater, and much more. WAMM has written thousands of letters and postcards, and made thousands of  phone calls for peace and justice. We haven’t stopped the wars, but we have kept the flame of resistance alive, nurturing the desire for peace.

Now WAMM is celebrating our third Decade of Daring Deeds. We invite you to join us for a special 30th anniversary celebration party.

We hope you can come to the party, but if you are unable to, please help WAMM continue acting for peace and for justice. Donate online by clicking here, mail your donation to the WAMM office, 310 E. 38th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55409, or call the WAMM office at 612-827-5364.

We can’t do it without you. Thank you!
