FROM: Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers

MESSAGE: Dear Mayor Rybak,

The Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers, a coalition of representatives from over 75 Twin Cities peace organizations and churches which include, to name just a few, the Basilica of St Mary, Hennepin Avenue Methodist, St Luke’s Presbyterian, St Mark’s Cathedral, Macalester Plymouth, Judson Memorial Baptist, The First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis, the ELCA Synod’s peace and justice committee, the University of St Thomas justice and peace committee, have passed a formal resolution denouncing any unwarranted aggression by the Minneapolis police force toward the citizens of Occupy Minneapolis.

As an organization dedicated to peaceful non violence, The Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers urges the office of the Mayor and the Minneapolis police force to honor the Occupiers’ first amendment rights of free speech and assembly, while guaranteeing their safety and protection in public spaces.

We would appreciate your attention to these matters.

Thank You,

Madeline Simon
Communications Coordinator
The Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers
